SYSTEM ATTORNEY
Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) seeks a System Attorney (SA) with at least
3-5 years of experience to provide legal and operational support to the Eastern
New Mexico University System. This is a distinctive opportunity for an attorney
interested in serving a public higher education system committed to student
success, institutional collaboration, and service to eastern New Mexico
communities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Governance and
Compliance/System CHRO, the SA will assist with contract review and with the
development, interpretation, and implementation of institutional policies to
support compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including Open
Meetings and Open Records Acts, Title IX, Clery, FERPA, and ADA/504 compliance.
The position also supports employee relations and student relations matters when
legal considerations apply. The SA serves as an internal resource to help
identify legal issues, coordinate requests for legal review, and facilitate
communication between University administrators and the institution's outside
General Counsel. The salary is $130,000 to $150,000, commensurate with
knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience. The SA is expected to start
January 4, 2027, or sooner.
