The New Mexico State Bar Foundation seeks qualified applicants to join our team as a full-time (40 hours/week) Center for Legal Education Attorney. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing the Bar Foundation’s Center for Legal Education (Center) educational programs and developing innovative and effective content for continuing legal education course offerings. This position is also responsible for providing strategic direction to enable the Center to evolve with the needs of the changing legal education marketplace and the practice of law. Due to the retirement and promotion of two of our current helpline attorneys, the New Mexico State Bar Foundation seeks two Full-Time (40 hours/week) helpline staff attorneys – one for its Modest Means Helpline (MMH) and one for the Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP). The successful applicant will provide legal advice and brief legal services over the phone to New Mexico residents. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. General Counsel

The State Bar of New Mexico (SBNM) seeks qualified applicants to join our team as a full-time (40 hours/week) General Counsel. The successful incumbent will provide the Executive Director, the Board of Bar Commissioners (BBC), and senior management with legal advice and services related to the various aspects of the organization’s operations as an integrated Bar Association. The General Counsel also oversees the operation of the State Bar regulatory programs, obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel as needed, and performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and the BBC. Due to the close legal relationship between the State Bar and the New Mexico State Bar Foundation (Bar Foundation), the General Counsel also performs general counsel functions for the Bar Foundation to the extent that these functions can be performed without creating a conflict of interest for the General Counsel.
