Job Description

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) currently has openings for licensed attorneys in our Hearing Examiners Division. Hearing Examiners serve as administrative law judges in complex utility proceedings to which they are designated by the Commissioners and in which they serve as Commissioner proxies.

The PRC also has two other divisions of attorneys, the Legal Division and the Office of General Counsel (OGC). Our Legal Division represents staff in matters before the Commission, and also provide IPRA responses through the Records Bureau. Office of General Counsel serves as attorneys for the Commission itself.

The PRC offers 11 paid holidays, no billable hours, Federal loan repayment program eligibility, fitness and wellness leave, and flexible work schedules. The official post of duty is in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and we also have a satellite office in Albuquerque. We also offer hybrid work schedules and other benefits not common in state service.
