The Office of Family Representation and Advocacy (OFRA) seeks a visionary Executive Director (ED) to guide a growing state agency committed to advancing justice and improving outcomes for children and families in child and family welfare cases. This is a four-year renewable “Governor Exempt” position offering the opportunity to lead systemic change and foster strengths-based legal representation statewide.
OFRA welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and lived experiences, including those historically underrepresented in leadership roles.
Location: Albuquerque, NM (with statewide impact)

Minimum Qualifications
Licensed NM attorney (or eligible within one year). NM has reciprocity with 40 states: https://nmexam.org/apply-for-admission/reciprocity/
At least 5 years’ experience in child welfare representation.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Lived experience in the child and family welfare system.
Commitment to cultural humility and strengths-based advocacy.
Experience representing children and/or parents in child welfare cases.
Proven fiscal and managerial skills, including budgeting and program development.
Knowledge of legislative and budget processes.
Ability to inspire and lead interdisciplinary teams.
Experience developing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
